The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting

for a Procurement Specialist 4 located in Juneau, Alaska!

What you will be doing:

As the Procurement Specialist 4 in the Division of Administrative Services (DAS), you will serve as the technical lead and responsible for procuring goods and services for the department. Overseeing 2 procurement specialists, administering contractual agreements, property and inventory management, and developing training materials.

The Procurement Specialist 4 position will help develop agreements to maintain our facilities, aircraft, large and small vessels, and field camps.

Working in the Fish and Game (DFG) procurement section will provide the incumbent with a broad range procurements that can be used to help provide experience that will not exist in many other agencies. DFG has over 60 facilities in 33 locations throughout the state, 6 large vessels, and over 10 aircrafts. DAS provides opportunities for flexible hybrid telework schedules after the probation period has ended.

This position is located in the Juneau ADFG Headquarters building next to the whale statue and Overstreet Park boardwalk, which provides ample parking and a great place to walk along the Gastineau Channel during breaks. The building is walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops and is a short drive to the downtown area.

Technical Competencies: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, project management, or a related field performing property control, purchasing, contract administration, writing or approving solicitations, explaining contracting requirements, developing or approving product specifications or, developing or approving a scope of work for professional services.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
