The Department of Revenue, Administrative Services Division is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist 2 in Juneau!

What You Will Be Doing:

Serve as the Department of Revenue’s senior procurement specialist, taking the lead on purchases for goods, services, IT needs, and small construction projects, while ensuring compliance with all State procurement laws, regulations, and policies.

Act as the department subject matter expert on procurement strategy and requirements and provide daily guidance and support to divisions, project managers, and program staff by developing solicitations, issuing RFPs/ITBs/RFQs, and coordinating contract actions

Oversee property management for the Department of Revenue, including inventory control, surplus processes, property transfers, regulated disposal, while maintaining accurate records in IRIS and other SOA systems.

Provide support as needed to the Administrative Services Division and the Commissioner’s Office across multiple business functions, including but not limited to maintaining purchasing documentation and processing accounts payable, as well as assisting with key administrative needs such as travel, timekeeping, onboarding, and front-desk coverage.

Develop, implement, monitor, and improve new and existing procedures aimed at boosting compliance, streamlining processes, and making support more accessible for staff and vendors.

We have a strong preference for candidates with proven experience in solicitation and contracting, including issuing RFPs, ITBs, and RFQs and developing contracts or scopes of work. Prior State of Alaska experience as a Procurement Specialist 1 is highly valued,  but not required.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, project management, or a related field performing property control, purchasing, contract administration, writing or approving solicitations, explaining contracting requirements, developing or approving product specifications or, developing or approving a scope of work for professional services.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
