The Director, Clinical Transformation & Digital Health serves as the enterprise leader responsible for accelerating clinical technology transformation, optimization of the MEDITECH Expanse platform and connected clinical systems, responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled workflow redesign across SEARHC.
The position develops and executes a multi-year clinical transformation and digital health roadmap that translates organizational priorities and frontline needs into a prioritized portfolio of EHR optimization, artificial intelligence, ambient clinical documentation, virtual care, remote patient monitoring, patient-facing digital services, clinical decision support, workflow automation, interoperability, analytics, and other technology-enabled care capabilities.
Working in close partnership with physicians, nursing, Information Technology, operational, quality, patient experience, data, cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, finance, and vendor leaders, the Director leads discovery, business-case development, rapid pilots, implementation, adoption, optimization, product ownership, benefit realization and transition to sustainable operations.
Success is measured by speed to value and sustained improvements in clinician experience, documentation burden, patient access, quality and safety, digital adoption, operational performance, and return on technology investments while ensuring solutions remain clinically appropriate, secure, equitable, supportable, and aligned with organizational standards.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Strategy and Executive Leadership
Develop, communicate, and maintain the organization’s clinical innovation and digital health strategy and multi-year roadmap in alignment with organizational priorities.
Advise executive leadership on emerging healthcare technologies, potential benefits, risks, dependencies, investment requirements, and implications for care delivery.
Translate strategic goals and identified clinical or operational needs into a prioritized portfolio of digital health initiatives.
Prepare executive recommendations, business cases, funding requests, portfolio updates, and decision materials for leadership and governance bodies.
Represent the organization in relevant partnerships, industry forums, vendor discussions, and collaborative innovation opportunities.
Enterprise EHR and MEDITECH Optimization
Lead enterprise optimization of MEDITECH Expanse and connected clinical systems, with clear priorities, decision rights, accountable owners, and an aggressive implementation roadmap.
Establish a continuous optimization operating model for MEDITECH enhancements, Priority Pack adoption, workflow redesign, clinical content, integration, analytics, automation, testing, release readiness, and post-release stabilization.
Create transparent intake, prioritization, backlog, and product ownership practices that focus resources on high-value clinical and operational needs.
Partner with physician, nursing, revenue cycle, access, quality, and operational leaders to reduce documentation burden, remove workflow friction, improve information availability, and increase use of existing platform capabilities.
Define baseline performance, adoption targets, delivery milestones, and value measures for major MEDITECH optimization initiatives, and report progress and barriers to executive leadership.
Hold vendors and internal teams accountable for timely execution, issue resolution, knowledge transfer, supportability, and measurable outcomes.
Digital Health Portfolio and Value Realization
Lead the evaluation, prioritization, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle oversight of assigned digital health solutions and programs.
Establish portfolio intake, assessment, prioritization, stage-gate, and benefit-realization practices that support disciplined investment decisions.
Define measurable outcomes, adoption targets, performance indicators, and accountability for each major initiative.
Monitor clinical, operational, financial, experience, equity, and technology outcomes and recommend continuation, modification, expansion, or retirement of solutions.
Coordinate budgets, contracts, vendor performance, implementation resources, and cross-functional dependencies for the assigned portfolio.
Clinical Innovation and Workflow Transformation
Partner with physicians, nursing leaders, information technology, and operational teams to identify high-value opportunities for technology-enabled workflow redesign.
Lead discovery and design activities that incorporate frontline input, current-state analysis, patient needs, clinical evidence, and operational constraints.
Promote solutions that reduce unnecessary documentation and administrative effort, improve information availability, and support safer and more efficient care delivery.
Create repeatable methods for pilot design, clinical validation, implementation readiness, adoption, optimization, and transition to sustainable operations.
Foster a culture of practical experimentation, learning, transparency, and continuous improvement while avoiding innovation that lacks a defined problem or measurable value.
Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology
Lead development and execution of the organization’s clinical artificial intelligence strategy in partnership with clinical, data, legal, privacy, compliance, cybersecurity, and technology stakeholders.
Establish governance and evaluation standards for AI-assisted documentation, clinical decision support, predictive analytics, generative AI, workflow automation, and other emerging capabilities.
Ensure proposed uses are evaluated for clinical appropriateness, patient safety, privacy, security, bias, transparency, human oversight, workflow impact, and ongoing monitoring requirements.
Define operational ownership, escalation processes, performance monitoring, and periodic review for approved AI-enabled solutions.
Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory, ethical, industry, and technology developments and incorporate them into organizational guidance and decision-making.
Maintain a prioritized AI deployment roadmap and rapid-pilot pipeline focused on defined clinical, patient, workforce, and business problems.
Identify, implement, scale, and measure AI-enabled solutions that may include ambient documentation, inbox and message support, clinical decision support, coding and revenue cycle support, contact center automation, patient scheduling, predictive analytics, and workforce optimization.
Establish time-bound pilot criteria, clinical validation, go/no-go decisions, scaling plans, and benefit-realization measures so promising solutions move quickly from evaluation to reliable operations.
Develop strategic relationships with MEDITECH, technology vendors, startups, academic partners, and other health systems to accelerate learning and access to emerging capabilities.
Patient Experience, Access, and Virtual Care
Provide strategic leadership for the digital patient journey, including patient communications, self-service capabilities, digital access, virtual care, remote monitoring, and patient education.
