AWAIC is hiring Direct Service Advocates!

We are hiring for multiple DSA positions with various schedules, including full-time, part-time, and relief/on-call opportunities.

Are you compassionate, dependable, adaptable, and able to remain calm when situations become challenging? Do you want to help individuals and families build safety, stability, and hope? This might be the role for you.

Our Direct Service Advocates provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered support to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and related abuse. DSAs assist with crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, shelter services, resource navigation, group activities, and other daily needs that help participants move toward greater safety and independence.

We’re looking for someone who listens without judgment, communicates clearly, respects each person’s choices, and understands the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries. The right person is emotionally resilient, reliable, comfortable responding to changing needs, and able to balance compassion with sound judgment during difficult situations.

Currently recruiting for:

Express confidential interest

Alaska politics is a small world. If you can't be seen job-hunting, submit a sealed interest: the employer sees only your alias and pitch. Your name and contact stay sealed until they request an introduction and you approve it. Decline, and they never learn who asked.
