Warehouseman

Summary or Purpose

All Borough employees who occupy positions where federal law mandates testing shall comply with the requirements of the federal regulations and will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion return to duty and follow-up testing.

Perform a variety of industrial or heavy warehousing functions, which may include receiving, inventory control, supply documentation, data input and material distribution and/or delivery.

Coordinate and perform activities in issuing, transporting and storing of warehouse inventory and materials.

Monitor, maintain and order warehouse inventory for inventory control.

Compile and maintain accurate distribution records and/or logs.

Maintain accurate records of material in relation to job number or work order number for billing purposes.

Perform office duties to include: telephone and radio communications; conduct surplus sales; data entry in to Micros/Midrange systems.

Operate loader and/or forklift. May lift heavy objects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skill in keypunch and computer inventory program.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required

High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.

Valid Alaska Commercial Drivers License (with Haz-mat endorsement) that meets North Slope Borough insurance criteria;

49 CFR Hazardous Material Transportation Training Certificate;

One year of work experience in a warehouse;

Demonstrated ability to lift 70 lbs regularly.

* 49 CFR Hazardous Material Transportation Training Certificate does not apply at Public Works.
