Temporary Maintenance Assistant

The City of Kodiak Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for

temporary Maintenance Assistants

.

The Department is looking for an experienced team player that has a desire to be a part of a progressive Parks and Recreation Department working hard to serve the needs of our community.

Employee is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and some semi-skilled maintenance activities under direction of more experienced personnel. Responsibilities will generally include: digging; loading and unloading materials; assisting skilled staff with moderate to complex repairs and maintenance activities; operating light equipment and vehicles; and conducting basic maintenance activities.

Examples Of Essential Duties

Perform routine maintenance duties on applicable facilities, tools, and equipment under direction of supervisory personnel, which may include lawn maintenance, digging, loading/unloading materials, and related duties.

Provides routine assistance to skilled staff with repairs and maintenance activities as assigned.

Operates light equipment and vehicles and performs routine maintenance activities as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.
