is recruiting for a State Recorder in Anchorage.

This position is open to Department of Natural Resources employees only

Only permanent State employees currently working for or laid off from the recruiting department's classified service may apply.

What You Will Be Doing:

Lead statewide operations for Alaska’s official recording and UCC systems, managing 2 district offices, the UCC Central Office, and over 40 staff through subordinate managers.

Drive strategic planning and process improvements, including policy development, technology upgrades, and preservation of historic records.

Oversee budgeting and resource allocation for a $4M+ annual operating budget and major capital projects; ensure fiscal accountability and efficiency.

Provide legislative and regulatory support, including drafting and reviewing statutes, testifying before committees, and implementing legislative changes.

Serve as primary liaison to stakeholders, ensuring exceptional customer service and clear communication with the public, legal professionals, financial institutions, and government agencies.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position is based in the Atwood building, which houses multiple state agencies in downtown Anchorage at 550 W. 7th Ave. It is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and free covered parking. The Recorder's Office is set up with comfortable and spacious workstations. Individual work shifts are flexible within the Division's normal business hours. A typical workday will involve working both independently and alongside other team members.
