Cook Inlet Housing Authority is hiring a Senior Network & Systems Engineer to lead critical infrastructure initiatives, strengthen cybersecurity, and ensure the stability and performance of enterprise systems that support the organization's day-to-day operations. Compensation: $110,000 – $120,000 annually (DOE)

What We’re Looking For:
We're seeking someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent judgment, communication skills, and a customer-service mindset. The ideal candidate will have experience working with many of the technologies that support our environment, including:
Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, and SQL Server.
VMware virtualization platforms and NetApp storage systems.
Fortinet firewalls, switches, and wireless solutions.
Cisco networking technologies and Meraki appliances.
Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
Cybersecurity tools, monitoring solutions, and backup/recovery systems.
Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.
Video conferencing and collaboration technologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, Telephony, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification required. Expired certifications may be considered when supported by at least two years of recent, relevant experience.
Seven (7) years of network administration experience.
Five (5) years of project management experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you'll take ownership of CIHA's enterprise network and systems infrastructure, helping ensure critical technology services remain secure, reliable, and operating at peak performance. You'll oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the systems and networks that support employees across the organization while serving as a key technical leader within the IT team.
Beyond daily administration and support, you'll play a critical role in shaping CIHA's cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies. Working closely with IT leadership, you'll help protect organizational data, strengthen infrastructure resilience, and ensure technology services remain available when they are needed most. Your expertise will help guide decisions related to network security, capacity planning, backup and recovery solutions, and infrastructure best practices.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Managing and supporting multi-site network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, VPN, and telecommunications systems.
Administering enterprise systems, servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and Microsoft technologies.
Leading infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and technology improvement initiatives.
Developing and maintaining cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Monitoring system health, performance, and security while implementing improvements that enhance reliability and efficiency.
Serving as a senior technical resource and Tier III escalation point for complex issues.
Partnering with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable, high-performing solutions.
Evaluating emerging technologies and making recommendations that support organizational goals.
