WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Research Analyst 3 will fulfill sensitive, complex, and high-level public information requests involving in-depth research and analysis assigned to the Department of Public Safety's (DPS) Public Information Requests and Research Unit (PIRRU).
This position is responsible for complex and difficult research projects, and reviewing records, data, evidence, and other items to ensure that DPS lawfully fulfills public information requests.
Research assigned to the incumbent is of broader scope with significant social, economic, or political importance, and of significantly higher complexity than requests assigned to the Research Analyst 2 level. The incumbent also acts as a working project lead for the most complex and difficult research projects.
As necessary, the incumbent will evaluate and recommend modifications to existing research procedures and instruct personnel in the proper application of procedures to be used.
*This position involves reviewing and processing incident files; photo, audio, and video evidence involving sexual assault, sexual abuse of minors, assault, suicide, homicides, etc.

THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:

The Chugach Mountains provide the backdrop for the building and ample parking is available, public transportation drop points are located directly in front of the building and paved trails are located next to the building.
