The Anchorage Pioneer Home is recruiting for a Recreation Therapist 1 / Recreation Therapist 2 position, to be filled based on the qualifications of the applicants.

Union: Supervisory bargaining unit (SS) starting biweekly rates:

Recreation Therapist 1, Range 14: $2,236.80; Recreation Therapist 2, Range 16: $2,577.60

This position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to one-hundred seventy-nine (177) elder residents.

What You Will Be Doing

:

This position is part of a healthcare team who plans, organizes, and directs recreational programs and special event activities in the Pioneer Home, a long-term care facility.  This position is responsible for involving elder residents in activities to promote, maintain or restore their physical and mental health.  This includes the treatment and rehabilitation of residents with various physical or mental abilities

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This job is located in the Anchorage Pioneer Home, an assisted living home at 923 W 11th Ave in Anchorage, Alaska.   It overlooks an area known as the Park Strip with views of the Chugach Mountains easily visible from most floors of the home.

Other Job Information:

This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24-hour facility.

This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility, where the environment includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets including cats, dogs, fish and birds.

Employees of the Pioneer Home receive continual screening for tuberculosis and criminal history.
