The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region Highways & Aviation is looking for a Project Assistant to help us

Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

As a member of the Northern Region team, you will help shape and support safety practices that protect employees and keep operations running safely and effectively.

In this position, you will:

Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and the regional Damage Reimbursement Program. Work with the appropriate law enforcement authorities, outside entities, and insurance companies to research, collect, and verify documentation supporting third-party damage claims to DOT&PF infrastructure.

Track expenditures and revenue associated with the Damage Reimbursement Program within Maintenance and Operations (M&O), maintain event-related documentation, and prepare financial and programmatic reports for M&O administrative leadership.

Coordinate, schedule, and maintain records for safety-related classes, and assist with on-site safety checks and compliance.

Coordinate with the Regional Safety Officer to provide technical guidance, identify risks, and develop cost-effective solutions that help employees and programs meet federal, state, local, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.

Serve as a coordination point for safety-related topics between M&O employees, other DOT&PF divisions, and outside entities.

Special Note

:

A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Preferred but not required certifications for additional support tasks include:

First Aid/CPR/AED (additional instructor certification also preferred)

Occupational hearing conservationist (COHC)
