We are seeking a full‑time Managing Pediatric Dentist to join our established and collegial team at our Children’s Dental Clinic. Outfitted with the latest pediatric dental technology, the clinic is designed to provide high‑quality, comprehensive oral healthcare in a supportive and child‑friendly environment. The new three-story dental clinic is scheduled to begin serving the Juneau community in February 2027. The facility will offer Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and General Dentistry services, along with visiting specialists.

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation salary:
$320,000 -$360,000 based on years of experience, including a
$25,000 leadership stipend
.

$35,000 Sign-On Bonus and $25,000 relocation assistance with three-year commitment.

Clinic Schedule:
Full-time: Four-day work week with no call responsibilities.
Traveling Clinic:
Six to Eight times annually, this role also offers the unique chance to participate in outreach clinics throughout Southeast Alaska, delivering essential dental services to rural and underserved communities while making a meaningful impact on the oral health of Alaska Native and Southeast Alaska populations.

264 hours of PTO annually and 80 additional hours for continuing education.
Practice Details:
New, modern clinic facility:
Featuring nine chairs with private, closed operatories, and plumbed nitrous oxide. The space is designed with kid-friendly murals and artwork, and there are plans to support each dentist with two dental assistants in the near future.
Patient Volume:
16-24 pediatric patients per day in clinic. All clinic operatories have up-to-date A-Dec equipment, digital radiography, and electronic health records. Including Dentrix Enterprise Software and Dexis Radiography.
Procedure opportunities:
Full spectrum of treatment options, from minimally invasive dentistry to traditional restorative dentistry, and full mouth dental rehab cases in the OR.
Managing Dentist Responsibilities:
Provides overall clinical leadership for the Pediatric Dental Program in close partnership with the Medical Director of Dental Services. Serves as the senior clinical authority for pediatric dentistry across SEARHC, including the Children’s Dental Clinic in Juneau and the consortium-wide field program that delivers intermittent specialty services to communities. Functions as the clinical deputy to the Medical Director for all matters involving pediatric dentistry, including policy development, scope-of-practice review, clinical standards, and specialty protocols.
Leads the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric dental services, including direct and contracted resources. For the Pediatric Dental Department, provides clinical supervision and oversight for pediatric dentists, dental therapists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants, ensuring effective assessment, training, onboarding, evaluation, and calibration of clinical team members. Engages staff by planning, assigning, directing, and evaluating work and by supporting pediatric quality, safety, CAMBRA, and specialty program standards division-wide.
Collaborates closely with the System Director of Dental Operations and operational partners to support day-to-day clinical flow and clinic operations of the pediatric practice, offering guidance and direction to staff and maintaining high-quality pediatric patient care systems. Provides direct patient care, including field travel, and supports continuity of pediatric specialty services through coordination with internal and external partners.
Qualifications:
5+ years of work experience as a dentist and/or dental specialist.
2+ years of management experience preferred.
2+ years of work within tribal practice preferred.
DDS or DMD degree from an accredited program.
Board Certification or Board Eligible for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Active Dental Practice license in state of Alaska or another US state.
BLS required.
