What You Will Be Doing
Under general direction from the Administrative Officer 2, the Office Assistant 2 position functions within the Administrative Service section for the Division of Retirement and Benefits. It is responsible for manning the Division's front desk in our office lobby, answering and routing incoming calls for the division via the Interaction Client phone system, general copying and mailing of correspondence for section staff, sending outgoing faxes and routing incoming faxes to appropriate section staff, making counseling appointments, sort member correspondence and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned. Organize, prioritize, and address a very broad range of situations and use of independent judgment, discretion and analytical ability to determine an effective solution.
The Office Assistant 2 will need to understand and participate in creating, tracking, and managing multiple priorities. You will gain experience handling and safeguarding confidential information.

The Working Environment You Can Expect
This position is office-based in the Juneau State Office Building. The Office Assistant 2 works the office's front desk and acts as the initial point of contact for visiting members as well as acts as the office's operator and routes incoming calls to the appropriate units.
