The Department of Corrections, Division of Health & Rehabilitation Services, is recruiting for a Long Term Non-Permanent Mental Health Clinician 3 position at the Anchorage Central Office (ACO) located in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:

Seeking a motivated and experienced master’s level mental health clinician to provide treatment to justice-involved individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

This position will :

Work directly with the incarcerated population in-person within the correctional institutions and by telehealth from the Anchorage Central Office.

Utilize clinical experience to perform substance use disorder and mental health screenings, assessments, evaluations, and treatment planning.

Assess an individual’s diagnosis and risk, respond effectively to emergent situations, and make clinical recommendations on appropriate treatment.

Assist with the coordination of and referral to additional mental health and substance use disorder treatment services at the institution and community resources.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position will be located at Anchorage Central Office to provide telehealth services from an office setting, and at Anchorage Correctional Center to provide in-person services. This position will work closely with a team of mental health clinicians, substance use disorder counselors, psychiatric providers, medical staff and institutional staff.

Starting salary may be approved up to Step D - $3,730.50, if criteria are met.
