The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is looking for multiple Maintenance Specialist - Bldg/Facility/Const - Journey 1 (HVAC)  positions to help us

What you will be doing:

As a Maintenance Specialist, BFC Journey 1 HVAC, you will perform daily maintenance and repair tasks on HVAC systems, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety standards. This includes monitoring and responding to building systems using specialized software, maintaining accurate records in AIS and CMMS, and utilizing tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repairs. You will be required to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and airport personnel to coordinate activities and ensure seamless operations while adhering to regulatory requirements and safety protocols.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

Technical Problem Solving:

Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem.

Compliance:

Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.

Mechanical:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, installation, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Adaptability:

Adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.

Special Note:

EPA Type II Certification required

Boiler certification Class 2 preferred

Valid driver`s license required

Incumbent must pass an FBI fingerprint based, criminal history records check per 49 CFR Part 1542 and a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment to obtain an airport issued Identification Badge. If access to US Customs and Border Protection is needed to carry out duties of their job, they must also pass a criminal history check per 19 CFR Part 122.181-188.
