***CBJ EMPLOYEES***

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of various CBJ facilities. The work includes, but is not limited to: monitoring and maintaining HVAC systems, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, and maintaining and repairing building envelope systems. All employees rotate on-call duties with one week on, four weeks off. This position also trains and mentors apprentice-level mechanics in their work.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A successful Maintenance Mechanic II applicant:

- Will have experience in the repair and maintenance of facilities at the Journeyman level.

- Will possess their own hand tools.

- Will have the ability to be flexible with shifting work priorities.

- Will be dependable.

- Will work well as a team member.

- Will have basic computer skills.

- Will have a willingness to learn new skills.

- Will be a self-starter.

- Will be available for on-call work

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position typically works Monday through Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm, with scheduled on-call periods. Your day will start at the Mt Jumbo Shop in Douglas, but considerable time will be spent working at other facilities around the CBJ.

Typical Responsibilities

Your typical workday will start at the Mt. Jumbo Shop in Douglas, where you will meet with your supervisor and coworkers to review your assigned work orders in our maintenance management software before heading out to remote work sites in your CBJ provided vehicle. Once at remote work sites you will perform your assigned work either on your own or with another coworker. At the end of the day, you will report back to the Mt Jumbo Shop to discuss the day’s work and record your work in our maintenance management software.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

Four (4) years of extensive experience in the construction and repair of buildings and structures or components.

Other:

Must possess and maintain own set of hand tools.

A valid Driver's License at the time of appointment and for continued employment.

OSHA Requirements

Attendance at and certification (as available) in CPR, First Aid, and Confined Space.
