What you will be doing:

This position performs maintenance, installation, and repair of facility systems and their components on Southcoast DOT&PF Facilities. Follows safe work practices, procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to organizational safety culture. Required to respond to facility requirements in the event of a natural or an-made disaster/emergency.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position is located at the Juneau Hub Maintenance Shop and is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing facility systems and components across facilities maintained by Southcoast Region Division of Facilities Services. The role requires occasional field inspections and may involve short-duration travel, including travel via commercial or small aircraft, depending on the nature of the assignment

Who We Are Looking For:

Mechanical:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, installation, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Problem Solving:

Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Attention to Detail:

Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Special Note:

Valid Alaska Driver's License

Incumbent must be capable of wearing a respirator

Able to fly in small aircraft to remote locations

Work from elevated platforms, ladders, and manlifts up to 40`

Lift heavy objects, up to 50lbs

Position will require the incumbent obtain an Asbestos Abatement Certificate.
