The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Southcoast Region Highways and Aviation is looking for a Maintenance and Operations Specialist in Juneau to help us

What you will be doing:

Under the general direction of the Regional Maintenance Manager, this position develops and administers the Region`s M&O related state and federal capital improvement programs, including deferred maintenance projects completed by contract and force account.

The Regional Maintenance & Operations Specialist contributes to DOT's mission to keep Alaska moving through service and infrastructure through the oversight of multiple construction contracts, managing region-wide equipment rentals, administering capital improvement projects, and perform similar duties in support of the Regional Maintenance and Operations Manager.

Who we are looking for:

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the core competencies of:

Project Management

: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.

Compliance:

Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.

Civil Engineering:

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods required to plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain facilities such as buildings, transportation systems, water and sanitary systems, and other public works systems.

Special Note:

Valid driver`s license is required.
