Lead Groundskeeper

What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership & Coordination
Lead and oversee daily work of groundskeeping staff
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and coordinate landscaping and grounds maintenance projects across multiple properties
Monitor crew productivity, performance, and workflow; provide feedback and guidance
Ensure work is completed on schedule, safely, and to high-quality standards
Grounds & Site Maintenance
Perform manual labor including lifting/moving materials
Rake and care for leaves, shrubs, plants, trees, and flowers
Weed, mow, thatch, seed, and maintain lawn areas
Provide snow removal and winter grounds care
Assist with janitorial tasks and general property sanitation
Performs general labor duties including debris removal, trash hauling and disposal, and site sanitation.
Equipment & Safety
Operate and maintain lawn tools and mechanical equipment
Ensure compliance with safety standards, CIHA policies, and OSHA guidelines
Train staff on equipment use, chemical application, and safe work practices
Follow safety protocols and report any issues to the supervisor
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a reliable, motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors and can confidently balance hands-on work with leading and coordinating a team. You prioritize safety, take pride in high-quality results, and bring a strong work ethic to everything you do.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with landscaping or lawn equipment
Demonstrated experience leading or supervising groundskeeping staff
Ability to lift 70-100 lbs. and work in varied weather conditions.
Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Knowledge of landscaping practices (soil, planting, maintenance techniques)
Experience using basic computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
