What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Eligibility Supervisor, you’ll oversee the daily work of Eligibility Specialists and ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of applicant and resident eligibility across multiple housing programs.
Supervision & Staff Development
Supervise, coach, and mentor Eligibility Specialists
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts
Monitor workload, productivity, and customer service delivery
Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development
Program Oversight & Compliance
Oversee initial, interim, and annual certifications to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Review and approve files to ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, NAHASDA, AHFC, and other requirements
Conduct quality control audits to maintain high standards and reduce errors
Interpret regulations and guide staff through complex eligibility scenarios
Operations & Process Improvement
Manage waitlists and eligibility tracking systems
Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements
Support updates to policies, procedures, and training materials
Collaborate with Property Management and Operations teams to resolve compliance issues
Customer Experience & Problem Solving
Support staff in resolving complex or escalated applicant and resident concerns
Use conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to achieve positive outcomes
Promote a professional, respectful, and customer-focused environment
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a confident and detail-oriented leader who brings strong regulatory knowledge, analytical thinking, and a passion for team development.
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
Are highly organized and able to manage competing priorities
Communicate clearly and effectively across teams and with customers
Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Can interpret and apply complex housing program regulations
Are committed to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement
The Basics
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, housing, or related field preferred
Minimum of 6 years of experience applying HUD, LIHTC, NAHASDA, or similar program regulations
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required
Certification in two (2) or more of the following: Certified Occupancy Specialist, Tax Credit Specialist, Housing Credit Certified Professional, Blended Occupancy Specialist, Specialist in Housing Credit Management, and/or Certified Professional of Occupancy, C3P (Certified Credit Compliance Professional, NAHASDA Certification (various training providers).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
