Who We Are Seeking:
We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and organized
H&SS Assistant Director
who is committed to supporting the health, wellness, and overall success of CVTC citizens and the community. The ideal candidate will be a strong team leader who can provide operational guidance, manage expenditures and grants, foster positive working relationships, and support H&SS programs in delivering culturally centered and ethical services. This individual will model professional communication, encourage healthy relationships and boundaries, and build a supportive environment where staff can learn, collaborate, and thrive while advancing CVTC’s mission of
“helping our citizens and community to thrive.”
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
3 - 5 years of experience supporting leadership with special projects is required. We are willing to provide training for Chickaloon Native Village (CNV) Tribal citizens.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as a member of a team.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and diligence.
Ability to type 40-60 words per minute efficiently and accurately.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social services, psychology, or other related field is preferred but may be substituted for three additional years of relative experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
A valid Alaska Driver’s license and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check:
This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
Hiring Preferences:
As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
