Position Overview
The Guest Services & House Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of guest arrival, stay, and departure at the Ski Lodge, while managing key service teams: Guest Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Housekeeping staff. This leader ensures guests experience a warm, seamless stay from check-in to check-out and that lodge facilities are kept to the highest standard of cleanliness, comfort, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Check-In
Supervise the check-in/check-out process, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
Coordinate with reservations and front desk systems to manage room assignments, VIP requests, and group arrivals.
Provide concierge-style support, including activity coordination (ski passes, lessons, rentals, transportation).
Oversee guest communications pre-arrival and during stay.
Direct assistant to the CEO.
Will be required to close bar 1 to 2 times per week.
Team Leadership & Management
Directly manage Guest Attendants, Laundry Attendants, and Housekeeping staff.
Develop and maintain efficient schedules to meet seasonal guest demand.
Recruit, onboard, and train seasonal and year-round staff on lodge service standards.
Conduct staff meetings, provide coaching, and ensure a positive team environment.
Enforce safety, health, and operational protocols.
Housekeeping & Laundry Operations
Supervise daily housekeeping to maintain lodge rooms, public areas, and ski facilities to top standards.
Manage laundry operations to ensure timely supply of linens, uniforms, and guest laundry services.
Perform regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards are met.
Oversee inventory control of housekeeping and laundry supplies, submitting purchase orders as needed.
Operations & Administration
Collaborate with other lodge departments (dining, ski operations, maintenance) for smooth cross-functional service.
Monitor labor budgets and track department performance metrics.
Manage guest service reports, maintenance requests, and service logs.
Support special events (après-ski receptions, private dinners, group retreats) as needed.
Qualifications
3–5 years of management experience in hospitality, preferably in a resort, ski lodge, or mountain lodge environment.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage diverse teams across multiple departments.
Excellent guest service and conflict-resolution skills.
Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) or lodge booking software.
Strong organizational skills with ability to balance administrative duties and hands-on support.
Ability to work long or flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak ski season periods.
Physically able to assist with housekeeping/laundry tasks when needed (lifting up to 40 lbs, extended standing/walking).
Working Conditions
Fast-paced ski lodge environment with fluctuating guest volumes.
Requires adaptability to winter weather conditions and high seasonal demand.
Mix of administrative office work and hands-on guest-facing operations.
Working hours could range from 40-60 hours per week. 6 day work week with 1 day off per week.
