Start Date: August 18, 2026

Qualifications:

Valid Alaska Teacher’s Certificate with a Pre-School Endorsement.

Highly Qualified in Pre-K Education.

Ability to plan, organize, develop, prepare and deliver (under minimal supervision) educational programs to students’ assigned subject(s) and or grade level (s) and students ‘individual abilities.

Ability to plan preschool activities for remote sites and lead paraprofessionals in delivering preschool services.

Attention to detail, good communication, critical thinking skills and writing skills.

Experience and understanding of best teaching methods and can explain and demonstrate effective use of such practices in a classroom setting.

Experience and understanding of the importance of ongoing formative and summative student assessments such as portfolios, scoring guides, running records, observations, and analytical and contextual, plus others.  Ability to use data to improve instruction and learning for students.

Experience building a collaborative relationship with parents and colleagues focusing on improving student achievement and growth.

Experience with student engaged assessment, models of excellence, critique, revision, and feedback to develop high quality work, of complexity, craftsmanship, and authenticity.

Proficient technology skills in commonly used software programs including Office, e-Mail, Internet, etc. that can be demonstrated on Macs.

Knowledge and understanding of Alaska grade level content and standards.

Effective use of video teleconference (TVC) software such as Zoom preferred.
