The Front Desk Agent & Breakfast Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through front desk operations and daily breakfast service. This role serves as a primary point of contact for guests and plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming stay from arrival through departure.
All team members at Borealis Basecamp are expected to maintain a team-first mindset, assist across departments when needed, and communicate confidently and professionally with guests from around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Agent
Greet guests warmly and provide a professional, welcoming first impression
Manage reservations, check-ins, and check-outs accurately and efficiently
Escort guests to their accommodations and provide property orientation
Answer guest questions regarding activities, tours, and local area information
Coordinate bookings and communicate effectively with other departments
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby environment
Provide five-star guest service by anticipating and responding to guest needs
Breakfast Service Duties
Set up and prepare breakfast service in the main lodge
Prepare food and beverage displays prior to guest arrival
Greet and assist guests during breakfast service
Clear tables and maintain cleanliness throughout service
Wash, dry, and restock dishes continuously during service
Replenish food, beverages, and condiments as needed
Break down and clean dining areas following service
Restock supplies and prepare for the next service period
Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to provide high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and stay organized
Willingness to work early morning shifts (starting at 6:00 AM), evenings, weekends, and holidays
Basic computer skills and ability to learn reservation systems
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous hospitality or guest service experience preferred
Preferred Skills
Experience in hotel front desk or customer-facing roles
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent activity
Ability to navigate uneven terrain and outdoor conditions as needed
Compensation & Benefits
End-of-Season Bonus
A $1.50 per hour bonus is paid for every hour worked throughout the season to employees who complete the full season. Employees who leave prior to April 12 are not eligible for this bonus.
Employee Housing
On-site housing is available for $10.50 per day. Rooms are double or triple occupancy. Amenities include shared common areas with TV, Wi-Fi, dining space, and an exercise area.
Housing also includes private bathrooms, laundry facilities, staff-prepared lunch and dinner, and a self-serve continental breakfast (oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc.).
