Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska is looking for a Finance & Administrative Assistant to join our team and help keep the behind-the-scenes work of our organization running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys making systems work well. This part-time position supports day-to-day financial and administrative functions including bookkeeping, gift processing, donor database maintenance, office coordination, and general administrative support.

The Finance & Administrative Assistant works closely with the Chief Operations & Finance Officer and supports staff and organizational leadership across BBBSAK.

What You'll Do

Finance & Bookkeeping Support

Enter invoices and assist with accounts payable and receivable

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations

Support expense coding and routine financial reporting

Help prepare documentation for audits, grants, and financial reviews

Donor & Gift Processing

Process donations and prepare donor acknowledgments and tax receipts

Maintain accurate donor and gift records

Support recurring gift processing and updates

Assist with donor database maintenance and routine reporting

Help reconcile donation records with financial systems

Administrative & Office Support

Maintain organized electronic and physical files

Assist with mail, deposits, purchasing, and office supplies

Support meeting logistics, document preparation, and general office coordination

Help keep administrative systems and processes organized and up to date

Provide administrative support to staff and organizational leadership as needed

What We're Looking For

You don't need to check every box. We're looking for someone who brings strong attention to detail, good judgment, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive financial and donor information

Comfort using computers, databases, and standard office software

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

Schedule & Location

This is a part-time, 20–24 hour-per-week, in-person position at the BBBSAK Anchorage Donation Center. The schedule offers flexibility and will be established with the selected candidate based on organizational needs.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay is $21–$24 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

Benefits include paid time off, including paid leave that may be used for illness and other qualifying sick-leave needs; 12 paid holidays prorated based on the employee's regular work schedule; flexible scheduling; and professional development opportunities.
