Job Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Staff will maintain overall cleanliness and maintenance of the port.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use;

Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment;

Receives, and processes work order requests;

Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems;

Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility;

Basic carpentry, plumbing and painting on construction and building projects as directed;

Ground’s landscaping and maintenance as required;

Safely operate shop equipment, including forklifts;

Maintains inventory of supplies, reordering as needed;

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Properly use basic hand and power tools;

At ease working independently and as a team member;

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

At least two years related experience required

Driver’s License Preferred

Current CPR/First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing and walking.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
