Base Salary Information:

Engineer/Architect 1:

$3,870.40 biweekly (OT Ineligible)

Engineer/Architect 2:

$4,133.60

biweekly (OT Ineligible)

What you will be doing:

As a Construction Project Manager, you'll manage approximately 8–10 concurrent public works construction projects from pre-bid through final acceptance and records review. Projects range from approximately $500,000 to more than $50 million and include airport and highway infrastructure improvements throughout Alaska.

Depending on your level, you will work under the guidance of senior staff or independently manage projects of increasing complexity.

In this role, you will:

Lead construction projects from contract award through project closeout.

Coordinate with contractors, consultants, Project Engineers, inspectors, utility companies, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Provide technical guidance and oversight to Project Engineers, Engineering Assistants, inspectors, and consultant staff.

Review and negotiate change orders, contract modifications, claims, and dispute resolutions.

Monitor project budgets, schedules, and contract compliance to ensure successful project delivery.

Ensure construction activities comply with contract plans, specifications, State and Federal requirements, and applicable permitting conditions.

Support procurement activities, consultant selection processes, and Professional Service Agreement development.

Participate in project partnering efforts and foster collaborative relationships among project stakeholders.

Conduct site visits and travel to project locations throughout Alaska, including remote communities accessed by small aircraft.

Serve as a resource for project staff and provide guidance during critical construction operations, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Travel to remote locations with limited services, including travel by small aircraft.

Provide guidance and support during critical construction activities outside normal business hours when necessary.

The working environment you can expect:

This position is based at the Central Region Headquarters located at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska, adjacent to Lake Hood Seaplane Base. While much of the work is performed in a collaborative office setting, the position also includes travel to active construction projects throughout Alaska, offering opportunities to visit both urban and remote communities across the state.

Special Note:

A Professional Engineering (P.E.) or Architect license is required for this position.

A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Frequent travel within the state is required for this position.
