Description:  Elementary Teachers-Matsu Borough School District-OPEN RECRUITMENT

Alaska's 2nd largest school district is looking to hire Elementary teachers for the upcoming school year!  We are located 45 minutes outside of Anchorage, AK.  We have over 18,000+ students across 48 schools.  Our communities include: Glacier View, Sutton, Palmer, Wasilla, Butte, Knik-Fairview, Meadow Lakes, Big Lake, Houston, Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek.

Position Description:

To teach students through a variety of instructional techniques both the required and supplementary subject matter and skills within district curriculum and create an excellent classroom environment which is conducive to learning for each individual student.

Salary:

$56,445 – $88,646 Depending on verification of service and education. MSBSD has a competitive Salary Schedule with an accelerated step advancement. Applicants can bring a maximum of 6 years' experience. We pay an additional $3,000 bonus PER YEAR for National Certification.

Leave:

Each Certified Teacher receives 4 paid personal leave days at the beginning of the year and accrues 1.33 sick leave days each month of employment.

Retirement:

MSBSD is a member of the State of Alaska Teachers Retirement System.

Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):

Alaska Teaching Certificate Type A and endorsement for assigned teaching courses. Ability to meet the Alaska Reads Act requirements.
