Job Description & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Responsible, each day, for assisting in the care and management of dogs, transporting guests, and giving 20–30-minute presentations about dog mushing. In all tasks, the position is responsible for adhering to the company’s policy regarding the treatment of its animals. Responsible for preparing sleds for guests and taking pictures of guests posing as a musher driving the wheeled sled.

All employees are expected to adhere to the company's standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, safety, and quality in our operations. Your cooperation in following these guidelines is essential for maintaining our high standards and achieving our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures guests experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of lifetime” by being attentive to their needs and/or wants, answering all questions throughout the excursion, and notifying management of unhappy guests and/or obtaining guest information for follow-up.

Employees are expected to adhere to all standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, safety, and quality.

Communicates accurate information to appropriate staff when required (radioing guest count to dog camp, contacting the office, communicating with dock representatives, etc.).

Adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Performing other tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the company’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

Valid Driver’s License

Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate

Must be 21 years of age

Able to lift up to 50lbs

Must be willing to work with dogs on a daily basis

Must not be allergic to dogs

Skills:

Guest Service:

Excellent communication skills and superior guest service

Time Management:

Ensuring timely arrivals and departures

Ability to handle unclear or changing situations and adapt to unexpected demands

Emergency Response:

Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently

Ability to effectively lead others through rapport-building, active listening, clear expectations, and ongoing coaching

Working Conditions:

Frequent outdoor work, subject to adverse weather and temperature variations

Occasional exposure to odors, including dog poop

Exposure to noise, including constant dog barking at dog camp

Frequent sitting, standing, and walking

Must be able to lift and carry buckets up to 40lbs for 200 feet (typically no more than 30 minutes per day)

Job Requirements

Certified or able to get certified in First Aid/CPR.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
