Court Case Manager 2 - Criminal

The Criminal Clerk manages criminal and minor offense cases from filing through final disposition, ensuring case files, court documents, and scheduling information are accurate and up to date. Responsibilities include preparing and processing court orders, warrants, summonses, release documents, and other case-related paperwork; maintaining case records; coordinating with judges, magistrates, law enforcement, correctional facilities, and attorneys on time-sensitive matters; and responding to inquiries from the public and justice agencies. The position also handles case closures, restitution and bail processing, grand jury support, and backup courtroom duties for judges and magistrates as needed. Additional duties include distributing court documents, updating records, and performing other assignments as directed by the Clerk of Court.

This position will serve as the in-court clerk for judicial officers conducting hearings in Kodiak Court and provides backup courtroom support for the Superior Court Judge and Grand Jury as needed. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing court documents, exhibits, witness lists, oaths, and other hearing materials; ensuring judges and magistrates have all required files and resources; setting up and maintaining courtroom equipment, supplies, and security; monitoring recordings and court proceedings; administering oaths; coordinating interpreters and telephonic appearances; managing exhibits and jury-related functions; supporting trials, hearings, and Grand Jury proceedings; assisting visiting judges; processing court paperwork, orders, and scheduling information; maintaining courtroom operations and security before, during, and after proceedings; securing courthouse facilities at the end of each day; managing exhibit storage and release; ordering and tracking supplies; processing transcript and media requests; assisting customers and answering phones; and performing other duties as assigned by the Clerk of Court.

The Work Hours

Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week.  The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
