What You Will Be Doing:
This position assists the Security Sergeant (CO4) with responsibility for all security aspects of the Fairbanks Correctional Center, including but not limited to: inspections and shakedowns; key control; evaluating and maintaining fire suppression equipment and various security devices; investigations of both prisoner and officer actions as directed; enforcement of procedures for the control, distribution and maintenance of firearms, ammunition and other security equipment; daily processing of inmate visiting lists; sits as a member of hiring panels for promotions; serves as an agency TAC; conducts background checks of job applicants, vendors and contractors; interfaces with various national and state agencies; maintains stock of security equipment and submits purchase requests for same; prepares reports and completes miscellaneous paperwork; attends staff meetings and provides input and consulting on security issues; acts as Shift Supervisor when necessary.
