What you will be doing:

In this position, you will be responsible for the supervision of a team of childcare licensing specialists who maintain a workload of licensed childcare facilities statewide, including conducting on-site inspections and investigations to determine compliance with the State of Alaska Child Care Licensing Statutes, Regulations, and Policies and Procedures. You will apply knowledge of Child Care Licensing requirements to providers, partner agency members, and the general public.

You will also be responsible for reviewing, approving, and issuing Reports of Inspection, Reports of Investigation, Notices of Violation, and Enforcement Actions, and ensuring the childcare facility is in full compliance before the issuance of a Child Care License.

This position requires regular Travel within the State of Alaska

The Community Care Licensing Specialist II position will be located in the Anchorage Child Care Program Office at the Frontier Building.

This position includes office and field work, including travel within the state.

Special Notice

:

A valid and current Alaska driver's license is required, as the position requires driving an agency vehicle and a rental vehicle while in travel status, as applicable.

Position requires occasional travel throughout the State and rural communities by vehicle, commercial and small aircraft, or ferry.
