Child Native Dancer

The Child Native Dancer will greet guests on the scheduled tours of Saxman Native Village into the Tribal House and will assist them, if needed, to their seats.  The Child Native Dancer will perform the songs and dances for the guests in the traditional regalia and will invite a few guests up to dance at the last dance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Learn and perform various songs and dances throughout the summer.

Will greet and engage with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner and answer any questions they may have.

Must have Personal Regalia items:

Blanket

Apron/Skirt/Black Pants

Headband/Hat/Mask

Appropriate Footwear

Solid red or Black shirt

Perform in a professional manner to represent the culture and company successfully.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work area will be free from debris, dust, liquid spillage, and food particles. Maintains all workspaces and in a clean and organized manner.  Work hours will vary depending on the cruise ship schedule.

Education and/or Experience

Previous experience in tourism and customer service is preferred.

Previous history in cultural dance and song is preferred.

Qualifications and Requirements

Attend practices and meetings to prepare for performances.

Ability to problem-solve with employees and communicate with guests in a professional manner.

Wear proper attire during performances as specified above.

Must have adequate knowledge of the local environment and cultural history, practices, and lifestyle of today.

Physical stamina to perform up to six performances in one day with adequate breaks in between.

Attend other Company events that require dance performances.

Must be able to communicate information on cultural matters.

Travel to various tour locations when assigned.

Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Adhere to Company policy on uniform and personal hygiene requirements.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
