WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
This Captain role within the Department of Public Safety, Division of Alaska State Troopers—Judicial Services and Headquarters—will provide leadership and coordination for the Alaska Bureau of Judicial Services, the Headquarters Lieutenants, and two civilian staff members. The position is responsible for guiding operations, offering strategic direction, and promoting effective collaboration across all assigned personnel to support the Division’s broader goals and objectives.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Comprehensive knowledge of Department of Public Safety (DPS) organizational structure, rules, and regulations.
Strong proficiency in leadership, supervision, human resource management, labor relations, and public administration principles.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey complex or technical information.
Preferred: Advanced certification issued by the Alaska Police Standards Council.
Preferred: Completion of advanced law enforcement management training through the Southern Police Institute, FBI National Academy, or Northwestern University.
