Capital Transit is a seeking qualified person to fill our Long-Term Temporary Mechanic II position!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking candidates with previous experience with diesel and internal combustion engine repair, ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical repair schematics and has the ability to work well independently and as part of a team to stay on task to meet constantly changing deadlines and priorities.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position typically works four (4) consecutive days, 10-hour shifts. The four (4) consecutive days will be between Monday and Saturday, 6:30am – 5:00pm at the Capital Transit Bus Barn Maintenance Facility in the Valley and is on rotation for standby during Capital Transit operational hours.  The actual shift may vary.

Typical Responsibilities

This is a Long-Term Temporary journey-level mechanic position that independently performs both routine and complex maintenance and repairs.

This position requires advanced technical knowledge and skills to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on all Capital Transit vehicles and equipment.

Types of Transit equipment include diesel and electric buses, paratransit vans, service support vehicles, and snow removal equipment. Particular attention will be given to a systematic and timely approach to performing quality repairs and maintenance.

The Mechanic will work closely with the Supervisor to assist in system analysis and policy implementation.
