Job Summary
Provide safety information to the guests prior to boarding the canoes. Guide the guests by canoe around Davidson Lake while providing them with a safe and enjoyable experience. Acts as crew to the RHIB boat captain. Provides narration on the RHIB ride to and from Glacier Point. Gives a safety speech and ensures guest compliance. Assists the Captain in boat maneuvers and in the care of the boat.

Key Responsibilities
Ensures guests experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of a lifetime” by being attentive to the needs and/or wants of the guests, answering all questions guests may have throughout the excursion, and notifying management of unhappy guests and/or obtaining guests information for management to contact them.

Communicates accurate information to the appropriate staff when required and as needed (radioing in the guest count to dog camp, radioing to the office when appropriate, communicating with the dock representatives, etc.)

While your primary duties will be outlined above, you may also be required to perform other tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the company’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License
Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
Must be 21 years of age
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Skills
Guest Service: Must possess excellent communication skills and provide superior guest service
Time Management: Ensuring timely arrivals and departures
Ability to handle unclear or changing situations and to switch gears easily in response to unexpected demands
Emergency Response: Handling emergencies calmly and efficiently
Ability to effectively lead others by establishing rapport and gaining trust through active listening, specifying clear expectations, and consistently coaching and/or instructing others to improve their performance.
Working Conditions
Frequent work is performed outside, so position will frequently be subject to possible adverse weather conditions and variations in temperature
May occasionally be subject to different odors throughout the day to include, but not limited to, dog waste
May be subject to noise, to include but not limited to, constant dog barking at dog camp
Position involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking
Must be able to lift and carry buckets weighing up to 40lbs for a distance of 200 feet (usually no more than 30 minutes a day is spent performing this activity)
