This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00

Example of Duties

Serve as the Contract Administrator for AWWU and as subject matter expert to provide expertise to AWWU staff related to AMC Title 7 and ensure AWWU actions are in line with documented purchasing rules, policies and procedures. Responsible for reviewing all AWWU related documentation prior to routing to the Anchorage Assembly for action, to ensure completeness, consistency and accuracy. Responsible for supporting Department contract/purchase order amendments and change requests via ERP system entry. Oversee procurement for AWWU Finance Administration. Serve as AWWU subject matter expert for SAP procurement module and administer procurement card program for AWWU. Provide support to AWWU Finance Director and Assistant Finance Director as a confidential assistant, to include handling information regarding budgeting, negotiations, arbitration, grievances and board meetings. Provide preliminary review prior to approval by AWWU Finance Director or Assistant Finance Director of all required fund certification information for Assembly items. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED or equivalent

and

seven (

) years of experience in the field related to the position.

OR

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline

and

five (

5

) years of experience in the field related to the position.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline

and

three (

3

) years of experience in the field related to the position.

Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.

Military Service Interview Preference

Veterans who wish to be considered for interview preference, as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D, must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, recognizing the person as a veteran. The attached documentation must show an honorable discharge or general (under honorable conditions) discharge. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.

Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference, as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D, must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows the full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual’s command organization, and shows the name, signature, title, and contact information of the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
