Maritime Instructor/Department Head located in Seward!

This position is in the Alaska Vocational Technical Teacher's Unit (AVTECTA).

What You Will Be Doing:

Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC), a division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, is recruiting for an AVTEC Instructor who will serve as an instructional subject matter expert, and the leader of the Alaska Maritime Training Center (AMTC). Responsibilities include oversight of planning, development, and delivery of training programs, and optimizing use of assessment and training technologies such as the fire trainer and full mission bridge simulator. Provides direct supervision of six full-time Instructors, several adjunct instructors, as well as a maritime advisory board, grant initiatives and special projects, and serves on the AVTEC leadership team.
