The
Assistant Kitchen Manager
plays a key role in supporting the kitchen’s daily operations and ensuring consistency, safety, and excellence in all food prepared and served. You’ll work hands-on preparing dishes, supervising line cooks, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting a positive, high-performance kitchen culture.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated kitchen professional who is ready to grow in a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Execute advanced food preparation tasks according to 49th State Brewing Company recipes and specifications.
Monitor food quality and consistency through regular testing and tasting.
Prepare, stock, and replenish the food assembly line for efficient service.
Accurately and efficiently assemble orders during all meal services.
Train, mentor, and supervise line cooks, supporting a culture of accountability and teamwork.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, following all sanitation and health codes.
Identify and properly dispose of any spoiled or substandard food items.
Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, including food safety and team member well-being.
Support cleaning and sanitation procedures in all kitchen areas.
Qualifications:
Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience.
Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management (both verbal and written).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with restaurant POS systems and computer applications is preferred.
Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. and stand for full shifts (up to 8 hours).
Must hold or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire (failure to comply may result in reduction of hours until provided).
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
