The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is looking to fill multiple Airport Operations Specialist positions to help us

What you will be doing:

This position is responsible for functionally managing operations of airport terminals, adjacent aircraft parking, and landside areas.  This includes seasonal and daily air carrier scheduling of Airport operated aircraft gates and remote parking spots used by more than 30 air carriers.  This position will make decisions to create, update and implement the gate management protocols and airport landside activities and ensure compliance with all Federal Regulations as applicable for FAA, TSA and CBP.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

Airport Operations:

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, methods, and procedures of airfield, air terminal, commercial or general aviation, landside functions and operations, and security operations subject to FAA, TSA, state or military rules and regulations.

Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving:

uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.

Oral and Written Communication:

Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Special Note:

This position requires a valid Alaska driver's license.
