Forestry & Fire Protection,
is recruiting for an
Administrative Officer 1 in Fairbanks.
This position is open to Department of Natural Resources employees only
Only permanent State employees currently working for or laid off from the recruiting department's classified service may apply.
What You Will Be Doing:
This position, under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer 2, provides administrative support for the Northern Region Fire Protection Program and, when assigned, assists area offices in Fairbanks, Delta, and Tok. It supervises the Northern Region Administrative team (two Administrative Assistant 3s, one Administrative Assistant 1/2, and one Administrative Assistant 1) across core administrative functions, including budgeting, accounting, personnel, payroll, travel, procurement, contracts, and HR support.
The position collaborates closely with the Administrative Officer 2 and counterpart Administrative Officer 1 to develop, coordinate, and implement consistent administrative processes that strengthen internal controls and streamline regional operations in budgeting, accounting, recruitment, payroll, travel, procurement, property control, and general administrative services.
