Join our team and play a key role in managing the fiduciary duties of the Division of Behavioral Health.

What You Will Be Doing:

Join our team and play a key role in managing the fiduciary duties of the Division of Behavioral Health! In this position, you will work with a team of accounting professionals to provide support and technical assistance for the Division's budget, coordinate the Department of Health's financial requirements with the Division's multiple federal programs, and ensure alignment with relevant regulatory policies.

You will aid financial reviews, reconciliation of expenditures and revenues, and assist with the preparation and implementation of corrective action plans in response to audit findings.

: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and practices (for example, double-entry accounting, accrual accounting), including the full accounting cycle and the preparation of work sheets, financial statements, ledgers, and journals.

Technical Competence:

Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Oral and Written Communication

: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of technical-level accounting or bookkeeping experience, including at least one year at the full-proficiency level.

Substitutions:

Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level.

Postsecondary education from an accredited college will substitute for up to one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.

Postsecondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 9 semester/12 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.

An Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience if it includes at least 6 semester or 8 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.
