What you will be doing:

If you are looking to build a strong foundation in state accounting while making an immediate impact, this Accounting Technician 1 position offers an exciting opportunity to support essential financial operations within the Department of Health. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience processing accounts payable and travel transactions, reconciling financial documents, working in statewide accounting systems, and helping ensure vendors and employees are paid accurately and on time. You will work as part of a collaborative and supportive team where you can develop your knowledge of state fiscal procedures, travel regulations, and accounting practices while receiving guidance from experienced accounting staff. This position offers a fast-paced and engaging environment where your attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to maintaining critical services during an important departmental transition. Clerical –

Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms.

Self-Management -

Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
