What You Will Be Doing:

In this position, you will:

Serve as the department’s senior accounting and financial management expert, overseeing complex accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Analyze and manage appropriations, grants, revenues, expenditures, and financial systems, providing strategic recommendations to leadership on funding, budgeting, and fiscal policy.

Develop, implement, and monitor accounting procedures, financial controls, and reporting processes to ensure accurate financial data and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Coordinate audits, prepare financial statements and reports, resolve complex accounting issues, and serve as a liaison with auditors and external agencies.

Lead financial system improvements, supervise the Accounting Technician 1 position, and manage projects involving accounting systems, reporting tools, and statewide financial processes.
