What You Will Be Doing:
The positions will provide administrative and financial oversight to the Division of Administrative Services within the Department of Education and Early Development. Focus is on fiscal support, budget, and federal funds management.

The position will help carry out the mission and vision by providing financial administrative support across the entire department, enabling staff to provide support to schools, district, student, and families statewide.

Our Juneau office is conveniently located in the state office building downtown. The position can be assigned a cubical with ample light and has the option for teleworking after an initial training period, with the opportunity for flexible scheduling. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and practices (for example, double entry accounting, accrual accounting), including the full accounting cycle and the preparation of work sheets, financial statements, ledgers, and journals

Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving:
uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
