The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a

Staff Psychiatrist/No Brd Cert

What You Will Be Doing:

The Alaska Psychiatric Institute in Anchorage is seeking a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care in an acute inpatient setting. The incumbent will conduct assessments, lead treatment planning, and oversee psychological services for adult and adolescent patients. This position functions within a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, and pharmacists. Additional duties include contributing to program development and supporting staff in maintaining a therapeutic, recovery-oriented treatment milieu. Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. with psychiatry board eligibility or certification and meet licensure requirements for practice in Alaska; experience in inpatient or forensic settings is preferred.

This position is located at 3700 Piper Street in the U-MED district of east Anchorage which offers several maintained walking trails, parks and nearby lakes. This area is filled with several restaurants, shopping stores, and has easy access to public transportation.

Specific Requirements for this Position:

Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. with psychiatry board eligibility or certification and meet licensure requirements for practice in Alaska; experience in inpatient or forensic settings is preferred.

Requires use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (ASPIN), which includes passing a background investigation, including fingerprinting

If selected for the position and prior to hire, the applicant will be asked to:

1. Submit to fingerprinting and background check screening.

2. Provide proof of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap), Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR), and Varicella Immunizations.

3. Provide proof of Hepatitis B (immunity or declination statement)

4. Provide annual Influenza vaccination or a signed declination statement.

5. Proof of Tuberculosis screening within the past 12 months.

BACKGROUND CHECK

The successful candidate must pass a comprehensive background investigation, which includes a state and FBI fingerprint-based background check.
