What you will be doing:

You're invited to join our dynamic and mission-driven General Relief Unit team as a Senior Services Technician.

In this role, you will:

Receive and process applications for financial assistance for assisted living placements through the General Relief Assisted Living Home Care Program to make accurate, timely eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations.

Collaborate closely with service providers, consumers, and teammates to creatively problem-solve unique, case-by-case situations, while handling a mix of clerical and administrative duties that keep your days interesting and engaging.

The office is located in Northeast Anchorage (1835 Bragaw Street).

It is near Costco, East High School, and various restaurants and a coffee shop. Parking is readily available at the office.

The incumbent will work closely with other members in both the Division and the Department of Health.

There may be an opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule once the incumbent has successfully passed the probation period.

Special Notice:

This position requires occasional travel to areas of Alaska.

A Valid and Current Alaskan Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent:

AND

Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration or a closely related field.

Substitution: College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.
