WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: This position works directly with community-based subgrantees to ensure all state and federal regulations are being followed, offering technical assistance on their grants administration practices, and ensuring grant compliance by conducting site visits, desk reviews, and everyday correspondence. This position also manages federal grants, submitting reports and applications and ensure the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, (CDVSA) is in compliance with award conditions as the State Administrative Agency of such grants. Additionally, this position works as part of a team for organizing and orchestrating statewide trainings and conferences, as well as developing educational tools and materials for use in disseminating information to subgrantees on best practices and processes of grant administration. Additionally, CDVSA has built a comprehensive, interconnected system of services accessible to all Alaskans that promotes safety and decreases domestic and sexual violence, working toward an Alaska free of domestic and sexual violence. The mission of the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, located within the Department of Public Safety, is to promote the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault through a statewide system of support, safety, intervention, education, and accountability and healing for those who cause harm. This position is a flexibly staffed position which provides the opportunity for a PC1 to promote to a higher level PC2 position upon successful completion and certification of our required training objectives and meeting the minimum qualifications for the PC2 position THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT: CDVSA is located in beautiful downtown Juneau, Alaska, with easy access to restaurants, shopping, a grocery store, and the waterfront boardwalk. CDVSA is located in the Community Building, a secure building at the intersection of Third and Main Street. The offices are open and welcoming, with space for team interactions, as well as individual space for independent work. The work environment is friendly, supportive, team-oriented, and focused on accomplishing the important work of CDVSA. Work schedules are flexible as long as they fall within the State of Alaska business hours. Additionally, CDVSA provides the opportunity, depending on the needs of the office, and the suitability of position and staff, for team members to request a hybrid work schedule combining in-office and up to 2-days of telework per week. Weekly staff meetings are held to promote communication, collaboration, and camaraderie, as well as to coordinate staff activities and share vital information. Competencies are needed in the following functional areas: Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, and guidance. Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements. Program Oversight: Plans, coordinates, and monitors programs to ensure that federal, state, and/or local government program requirements and plans are met, providing professional consultation on the specialized services of the program or associated project(s). Education and Training: Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods. Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
