We are seeking a compassionate, intermittent Family Medicine Physician to join an established and collegial primary care team at the Vintage Park Campus. This position offers a rewarding blend of full-spectrum Family Medicine, caring for patients of all ages in an outpatient setting, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. The new $300 million Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center opened in Sitka, April 2026 and in 2021 we opened the $30 million Wrangell Medical Center, located in Wrangell. With plans to build a third critical-access hospital in Haines. In addition to the dozens of established outpatient and traveling clinics throughout the region. Compensation & Benefits: Guarantee Hourly Wage: $195.00 per hour. SEARHC will coordinate and purchase flights, rental car, and housing accommodations. Retirement planning: 401k plan with up to 5% employer match beginning on your date of hire, including Roth and 457b plans. Schedule and Work-Life Balance Workweek: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with telemedicine included and no call. Preference: 13 weeks annually. Practice Details: Clinic facilities: 16 exam spaces with two procedure rooms. One medical assistant per physician, dedicated OB/Primary Care nurse case manager, nurse triage, and nutritionist. Ancillary services include Mammogram, CT, DEXA, Ultrasound including ECHO, X‑ray, laboratory services, and MRI. Patient Volume: 12-17 pediatric patients per day in clinic, plus 4 hours of administrative time weekly. EMR and tools include Meditech, Dragon Dictation, and DAX AI assisted documentation. Procedure opportunities: Women’s health, prenatal, vasectomies, colposcopies, circumcisions, wound care, draining abscesses, and cyst removal. Hospital Capabilities: Nearby Bartlett Regional Hospital has 57 inpatient beds with 7 OB rooms, 2 C-Section rooms, and a special care nursery. Qualifications: MD or DO with active/unrestricted Alaska medical license or ability to obtain license. Preference: Two to Four years of rural practice experience. Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine. Unrestricted DEA. Required: BLS. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of services in accordance with SEARHC policy. Provides optimal patient experience using strong listening and communication skills that build long term patient care relationships. Actively participates in SEARHC quality patient care initiatives and quality assurance programs. Actively participates in provider and clinic meetings, and SEARHC medical staff functions. At times the Physician may be directed to provide services outside of the clinic to meet the patient’s needs, e.g., local long-term care center, Pioneer Home, patient’s home, and local schools Knowledge of Well versed in the principles and practices of primary care Is aware of standards of care, EMTALA, HIPAA, health care risk management principles, medical ethics, and medical malpractice principles. Skills i n Communicating in an open, respectful, helpful, supportive, and collaborative manner with staff and patients. Ability to Provide high-quality health care services including the performance of medical procedures appropriate to the outpatient and emergency care setting . Provide clinical leadership, promotes teamwork and collaboration, provides clinical guidance as requested for midlevel providers, and resolves conflict . E fficiently utilize the electronic medical record and other clinically required technology . Express ideas clearly through oral and written communication skills, analyze complex situations efficiently and problem solve, and effectively implement clinical program strategies .
