Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual. Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $27.46 Fairbanks salary: $28.28 Juneau salary: $28.83 What you will be doing: This position supports the Division of Environmental Health’s Drinking Water Program by helping public water systems maintain compliance with state and federal drinking water regulations. Reviews laboratory data and compliance reports, identifies reporting errors, performs data entry, and verifies regulatory compliance. Provides technical and compliance assistance to small public water system operators, evaluates inspection reports, and supports corrective actions. Assists with lead service line inventory development and review to help systems identify and remove potential lead service lines. Contributes to special projects, including PFAS sampling, developing templates and guidance materials, and providing training on forms and program requirements. It works with public water systems to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, preventing waterborne disease outbreaks and exposure to contaminants. This position supports senior compliance and engineering staff and provides technical assistance to public water systems throughout the Anchorage area, southwestern Alaska, the Aleutians, and the North Slope. The working environment you can expect: The position location depends on the selected candidate and provides professional support to Anchorage Compliance and Engineering staff in a primarily office-based role with potential part-time telework after training. Daily work involves independent task management, frequent collaboration with colleagues and public water systems, and occasional summer field inspections if desired.
